Are you planning to go on weekend with friends, not too far, in a nice place? So I have an idea for you! Stockholm!
That’s exactly what I did a few weeks ago as you could see from my social networks. With some friends, we decided to go to Northern Europe and opted for Stockholm. No regrets, because despite the cold weather there, the city has everything to offer for a great weekend.
After about two and a half hours’ flight from Geneva, we finally arrived to Stockholm! For the journey from the airport to the city-centre, the best way- and the cheapest one if you are several persons – is to take a taxi, but you can also take the shuttle directly from the airport, you can get tickets in advance on Internet.
We stayed at the “Central Hotel” which is situated almost in front of the train central station in the heart of the city, and needless to say that the area is perfect and ready for everything. In addition, the hotel proposes an amazing breakfast!!! I love breakfast at hotel! And the rooms are super cool with dumbbell to develop your triceps and biceps as soon as you wake up ! LOL
First round downtown, towards the old town, in the district of Gamla Stan, a small island between Norrmalm and Södermalm with small streets and lots of little shops and cosy cafes. A great place to hang about while having a first glimpse of the city. On site, go and have a look at the flower shop Christoffers Blommor, definitely it worth the look.
To end the day, the city offers a multitude of restaurants but if you want to try a nice little one, savouring revisited local dishes, try Bestick, the service is moreover super top.
The next day, breakfast and discovery of the city in a new light, towards the modern art museum, specifically the “Modern Musseet“. As soon as you arrive near the museum on Skepsholmen island, you will see a lot of artworks from Niki de Saint Phalle and other artists, THE perfect spot for insta photos guys! In short, if you love modern art like I do, then you should definitely go there, and the view of the city from the island is really worth a visit.
One thing for sure: after spending all morning walking through the museum, you will be hungry, so here is a small selection of restaurants for you:
-The Pontus
The « it »place, we go there to be seen and also to taste oysters, but that’s secondary (LOL)
-The Secret Garden
A trendy bar, gay-friendly where you will see the Stockholm hipsters.
-Chokoladkoppen
A very cosy cafe where you can enjoy delicious snacks and especially hot chocolate!
-Café Pascal
You will love it, just the display opens the appetite! (PS: there are Vegi menus!)
-Pom & Flora
A small cafe with French charm and if you also like “Healthy food”, you’ll really love it!
And after filling your stomach, nothing better than shopping to help your digestion! So let’s start with Västerlånggatan across the island, which is the main street where you will find a maximum of shops, from the biggest brands to small tourists shops. Tip: go to Papercut, you will find an incredible selection of magazines and a café (perfect after a meal, right?)
Finally, head towards Slussen district (Södermalm, south of Stockholm).
South of Gamla stan, go up Götgatan and plunge into the streets of this “bobo” neighbourhood which was rehabilitated few years ago and where you will find fashionable bars and pubs as well as trendy shops, and the district of SoFo (contraction of Söder om Folkungagatan) where you will find all the trendiest items, from fashion, jewellery to design, deco, and so on. Don’t forget to drop in Granpa, a trendy concept store for man and woman, with trendy articles in Scandinavian design, I loved it!
On Sunday, shops open only at 12:00 in the main shopping streets, then the good plan is to go for a brunch before at Snickarbacken 7. I highly recommend it because the place is incredible and moreover it is a concept store so if you are fan of Scandinavian design you will find all that you could wish for.
After brunch, head towards Biblioteksgatan, not too far from there, and you’ll find plenty of stores, like Stella McCartney, Acne, & Urban Outfitters or OtherStories, which will occupy your last hours in Stockholm before flying back.
Well, surely there are plenty of other lovely places that I didn’t have time to discover, so if you know more, feel free to leave me your comments and tips, and I will test them next time!

Vous planifiez de partir en weekend avec des amis, pas trop loin, dans un endroit cool? Alors j’ai une idée pour vous! Stockholm !
C’est exactement ce que j’ai fait il y a quelques semaines comme vous avez pu le voir sur mes réseaux sociaux. Avec des amis, nous avons décidé de partir en Europe du nord et opté pour Stockholm. Aucun regret, car malgré le froid sur place, la ville a tout à offrir pour un super weekend.
Après environ deux heures et demi d’avion depuis Genève, nous voilà enfin à Stockholm ! Pour le trajet de l’aéroport à la ville le meilleur moyen – et le moins cher si vous êtes plusieurs – est de prendre un taxi, sinon il y a des navettes directement depuis l’aéroport et vous pouvez prendre les billets à l’avance sur internet.
Nous avons logé au « Central Hotel » qui se situe presqu’en face de la gare centrale en plein cœur de la ville, et inutile de vous dire que le quartier est parfait et prêt de tout. En outre, l’hôtel avait un petit déjeuner de malade!!! J’adore les petit-déjeuner à l’hôtel ! Et les chambres sont super cools avec des haltères pour travailler ses triceps et ses biceps dès le réveil (LOL).
Première sortie en ville, en direction de la vieille ville, dans le quartier de Gamla Stan, une petite île entre Norrmalm et Södermalm avec de petites rues et tout plein de petits magasins et cafés cosy. Un endroit idéal pour flâner tout en ayant un premier aperçu de la ville. Sur place, allez jeter un coup d’œil au magasin de fleurs Christoffers Blommor, ça en vaut vraiment le coup.
Pour bien finir la journée la ville offre une multitude de restaurants mais si vous voulez tenter un petit resto sympa, en dégustant des mets locaux revisités, essayez le Bestick, dont le service est en plus super top.
Le lendemain, petit déj et c’est parti pour découvrir la ville sous un nouveau jour, et direction le musée d’art moderne, plus précisément le « Moderne Musseet ». Déjà, dès que vous arrivez dans les alentours du musée sur l’île Skepsholmen, il y plein d’œuvres de Niki de Saint Phalle ainsi que d’autres artistes, spot parfait pour des photos insta les gars ! Bref, si vous aimez comme moi l’art moderne alors vous devez absolument y aller, et en plus la vue de la ville depuis l’île en vaut vraiment le détour.
Une chose est sûre: après avoir passé la matinée à marcher dans le musée vous aurez faim alors voici une petite sélection de restaurants pour vous:

L’endroit in, on y va pour se faire voir et aussi pour déguster des huitres, mais ça c’est secondaire (LOL)

Et après s’être rempli l’estomac quoi de mieux que le shopping pour digérer? Alors commençons à Västerlånggatan qui traverse l’île et est la grande rue où vous trouverez un maximum de commerces, de la grande enseigne aux magasins pour touristes. Petit conseil : allez chez Papercut, vous y trouverez un choix incroyable de magazines et aussi un café (parfait après un repas, non?)
Enfin, dirigez-vous dans le quartier de Slussen (Södermalm, le sud de Stockholm).
Au sud de Gamla stan, remontez Götgatan et enfoncez-vous dans les rues de ce quartier « bobo » qui a été réhabilité depuis quelques années et où vous trouverez des bars et pubs à la mode ainsi que des boutiques tendance, et le quartier de SoFo (contraction de Söder om Folkungagatan) dans lequel vous trouverez tous les articles les plus tendance, de la mode au design en passant par la déco, les bijoux, et j’en passe. Surtout, faites un saut chez Granpa, concept store branchouille pour homme et femme, avec de jolies pièces au design scandinave, j’ai adoré!
Le dimanche les magasins n’ouvrent qu’à 12:00 dans les principales rues commerçantes, alors le bon plan c’est d’aller bruncher chez Snickarbacken 7. Je vous le conseille fortement car l’endroit est déjà incroyable et en plus c’est un concept store donc pour les amateurs de shopping au design scandinave vous allez être comblés. Après le brunch, dirigez-vous vers Biblioteksgatan, pas trop loin de là, vous trouverez plein de magasins, comme Stella Mc Cartney, Acne, Urban Outfitters ou &OtherStories, de quoi occuper ses dernières heures sur place avant de reprendre l’avion.
Bon, sûrement il existe plein d’autres endroits cool que je n’ai pas eu le temps de découvrir, donc si vous en connaissez d’autres n’hésitez pas à me laisser des commentaires avec vos bons plans sur place, et la prochaine fois que j’y retourne je les testerai!
