Already a week since I got back from Madrid, time flies!
I wanted to post a summary of these four days in the Spanish capital and share it with you. If you follow me on my social networks some pictures you will recognize if not, for the newcomers here’s a summary with details of my stay.
Something sure, I felt in love with this city!

Dèjà une semaine que je suis rentré de Madrid, que le temps passe vite! je voulais faire un post récapitulatif de ces quatre jours dans la Capital Espagnole et le partager avec vous. Si vous me suivez sur mes réseaux sociaux certaines photos vous les reconnaitrez si non pour les nouveaux venus voici un récapitulatif avec plus de détails sur mon séjour.
Un truc est sur, je suis tombé amoureux de cette ville!

First day:
Just arrived at Madrid airport my boyfriend and I, we rushed into a cab to our hotel on Gran Via, in downtown Madrid (strategic location for our first visit in Madrid)
We didn’t want to waste time and take up the first day on site.
Once we got to our room, having left our luggage and have a little refreshed, it was time for us to discover the city.
The advantage of being on the Gran Via is that it was close to everything.
So, we ventured on the Gran Via, tourist at will but with beautiful architecture, the ideal place for shopping lovers or to go to the theater!
After few minutes in the middle of the crowd we decide to go to known Malasaña, more fun and lively, with a lot of stores and bars, the perfect location for visiting Madrid the first day.
An area that I recommend you to drink something and the Vacaciones bar when we drank a Mojito was the perfect place for our first day on site before heading to our concert, and yes, the reason for our trip in Madrid was to see a Spanish artist that I love, Alaska, but I don’t want to talk more about the concert, just that it was perfect.

Premier jour:
A peine arrivés à l’aéroport de Madrid moi et mon copain nous nous sommes précipités dans un taxi direction de notre hotel sur la Gran Via en plein centre de Madrid (location stratégique pour notre première visite à Madrid),
nous ne voulions pas perdre de temps et profitez un maximum de cette première journée sur place.
Une fois aillant pris possession de notre chambre, de laisser nos bagages et de se rafraîchir un peu, il était temps pour nous de découvrir un peu le centre ville.
L’avantage d’être sur la Gran Via c’est qu’on était près de tout.
Nous nous sommes donc aventurés sur la Gran Via, touristique à souhait mais avec une très belle architecture, aussi l’endroit ideal pour les amateurs de shopping ou de théâtre!
Après quelques minutes au milieu de la foule nous décidons de nous aventurer su le quartier de Malasaña, plus sympa et très animé aussi avec ces boutiques et ses bistrots, le quartier parfait pour découvrir Madrid le premier jour.
Un quartier que je vous recommande pour voir un verre et le « Vacaciones bar » ou nous avons bu un Mojito était l’endroit idéal pour fêter notre premier jour sur place avant de nous diriger à notre concert, et oui, la raison de notre voyage à Madrid était d’aller voir une artiste espagnole que j’adore, Alaska mais je vais pas épiloguer sur le concert, simplement que j’ai adoré.

Second day:
After a rude awakening (cause post-concert and night that followed) we woke up and saw the beautiful sunny day that was offered to us.
A good breakfast at Harina Madrid and we were ready!
Bound program, visit at « El Retiro » a kind of Central Park in Madrid, one of the most beautiful parks that I’ve never seen.
With 125 hectares and over 15 000 trees this park is an oasis of greenery in the heart of Madrid. The botanical point of view, some of its gardens are a true heritage, must go to the French Parterre and bald cypress, Madrid oldest tree which is said could be 400 years.
Must visit the Crystal Palace an amazing place for its architecture!
(Not far from the park there is also the botanical gardens for plant lovers)
After this outdoor getaway it was time for us to recover the crowd and civilization so towards the center for a cultural visit to the Contemporary Art Museum Reina Sofia not far away and located in an old hospital building.
I highly recommend it and personally I was very happy to have seen in true the famous Picasso painting “El Guernica”.
Tour finished, short stop for something to eat at El Huerto de Lucas I really gotta go.
Full stomach and ready to face the afternoon we decided to go in one of the best area in town Chueca the gay village with a lot of small shops, first stop at Cacto Cacto, you will find only cactus, a crazy thing, I really loved it and the word is short.
Next to this cactus store you will find Margarita se llama mi amor which for me is one of the most beautiful flower shop that I had never seen.
We spent the afternoon strolling through the streets of Madrid towards Malasaña for an appointment with a barber, but not any, there are some times I fell it on internet called Barberia Malayerba and I really wanted to go.
I did well, not only the living are worth a look, the staff is friendly and very professional.
By cons, if you want to go, don’t hesitate to make an appointment in advance!

Deuxième jour:
Après un réveil difficile (à cause du concert et de la soirée qui a suivi) nous nous sommes réveillés et vu la magnifique journée ensoleillé qui s’offrait à nous.
Un bon petit déjeuner à « Harina Madrid » et nous étions prêts!
Programme obligé, visiter « El Retiro », un genre de Central Park madrilène, un des parcs les plus beaux que je n’i jamais vu. Situé au centre de Madrid.
Avec ses 125 hectares et plus de 15 000 arbres ce parc est une véritable oasis de verdure au cœur de Madrid. Du point de vue botanique, certains de ses jardins sont un vrai patrimoine, faut aller voir le Parterre français et son cyprès chauve, le plus vieil arbre de Madrid dont on dit qu’il pourrait avoir 400 ans.
Faut absolument aller le Palais de Cristal un endroit incroyable de par son architecture!
Pas très loin du parc il y a aussi les jardins botaniques, pour les amoureux des plantes!
Après cette escapade en plein air il était temps pour nous de retrouver la foule et la civilisation donc direction du centre pour une visite culturelle au musée d’art contemporain « Reina Sofia » qui se trouve pas très loin et qui est situé dans un ancien hôpital. Je vous le recommande fortement et personnellement j’ai été très content d’avoir vu en vrai le fameux tableau de Picasso « El Guernica ».
Visite terminé, petit stop pour manger quelque chose à « El huerto de Lucas » faut y aller vraiment je vous le conseil.
Le ventre plein et prêts à affronter l’après-midi nous décidons d’aller dans l’un des quartier incontournables de la ville « Chueca » le quartier gay et ses petites boutiques, premier arrêt à Cacto-Cacto une boutique ou tu trouveras que des cactus, un truc de dingue, on a adoré et le mot est court.
A côté vous trouverez « Margarita se llama mi amor » qui est pour moi l’un des plus beaux magasin de fleurs que je n’avais jamais vu.
Nous avons passé l’après-midi à flâner dans les rues de Madrid en direction de Malasaña pour un rendez-vous chez un Barbier, mais pas n’importe lequel, il y a quelques temps j’étais tombé sur internet sur ce salon appelé «Barberia Malayerba » et je voulais absolument y aller.
J’ai bien fait, non seulement le salon y vaux le coup d’oeil que le personnel est sympa et très professionnel.
Par contre si vous souhaitez y aller n’hésitez pas à prendre rendez-vous à l’avance!

Third day:
Sunday, waking early for a productive day.
Every Sunday in Madrid there is an event not to be missed, is the street market Del Rastro close to Lavapies
Is an open air market in a historic area of the city, is a Madrid institution and you find everything, really everything!
After some interest in purchasing vintage stuff that unfortunately for us we couldn’t take with us we left towards Prado’s museum one of the largest of Spain for a walk around. We did not visit but we will go in at an upcoming getaway.
Well, we were guided towards to the Royal Palace for a visit, as it was a rainy day this Sunday, we wanted to be mostly dry and warm. It’s a visit to do, in any case is something to see!

Troisième jour:
Dimanche, réveil tôt pour un une journée productive.
Tout les dimanches à Madrid il y a un événement à ne surtout pas manquer c’est le marché Del Rastro tout près de Lavapiés
C’est un marché aux puces à ciel ouvert dans un quartier historique de la ville, c’est une institution madrilène et on y trouve de tout, vraiment de tout!
Après s’être donné envie d’acheter plein de trucs vintage que malheureusement pour nous nous ne pouvions pas prendre avec nous nous sommes partis en direction del Prado le plus grand musée d’Espagne pour une promenade aux alentours. Nous ne l’avons pas visité mais nous y contons aller lors d’une prochaine escapade.
Par contre nous avons été guidés direction du palais Royal pour une visite, car comme il pleuvait en ce Dimanche nous voulions être au sec et surtout au chaud. C’est une visite à faire, dans tout les cas c’est un truc à voir!
